thanks for your comment! Actually I should clarify what I said about the shares I sold today. I had hoped to make an additional penny profit for each share, but decided I had learned my lesson about greed and so placed a limit order but only at market value.
I'm with you, though, on using limit orders. I think it's a safer way to go.
I ended up netting $30 on this, so not great but definitely not a loss. If I had sold last week, my profits would have been around $75. Urrrrrrrghgghghghgh.

How ironic that I use Scottrade too. “Funny Money”, LOL. I call mine Mad Money, like Jim Cramer. I have disciplined myself to use only limit orders. I feel your pain watching your trade, even when it swings in the wrong direction. If you use a market order, you will find yourself saying, “ if only I had done this”. Then you will beat yourself up even more. Good luck with your portfolio.
