Not a Conspiracy

All the networks would need to be in a conspiracy if what you say is true.

One major difference in Iraq v Vietnam is the numbers of dead soldiers.  Thousands died in Vietnam and even more were wounded.  The number of dead soldiers is probably somewhere near the same number that die in the U.S. each day.

In the Gulf War, for example, it was calculated that the same number of soldiers, if living in the U.S. during the same time period, would have had a higher death rate mainly due to car accidents.  So people were actually safer in Iraq during the Gulf War.  One Gulf War vet came back and within a month he was shot dead by his 'girlfriend's' new boyfriend.  He survived a war but couldn't survive Detroit.  A similar event of death occured during 'Operation Iraqi Freedom.'

One more thing, many people opposed to the war, unsupportive of the military are suddenly concerned about soldiers.  [I'm not saying this is you].  They want to see the bodies coming back in body bags so their agenda to stop the war will gain momentum.  I say, if you didn't care about them while they were living, don't find value in them through their deaths.  The dead men and women died because they thought they were fighting for your freedom.

Enjoy your freedom.  Believe in your President.  I wouldn't say that about every president.  But I think this one genuinely wants to protect the citizens of the U.S.

we were in a bus with heavy mesh on the windows and as we drove away one guy asked about the mesh and the driver said, "That keeps the grenades from coming in the windows, "Good Morning Vietnam, true story

Soldoers in Coffins
Scoop - You just described the opening scene in "Platoon". Iraq is turning into another Vietnam - only we are the winners of this war or are we?

When I walked off the plane in Danang

I was greeted by the site of stacked silver coffins as they were being loaded on another plane for the return to the States. The guy leading us said, "Welcome to Vietnam boys, that's who you are replacing."

I don't need to see anymore but I do know where you are coming from. This current fiasco in Iraq is something I supported at one time, but I have seen the light, and the lies. The problem is do we stay and for how long and what cost? If we leave what does it say to those who gave all?

Soldiers Returning In Coffins
SIT-Sky - What really bothers me the most about this media thing is the fact that Jessica Lynch was not wounded in battle. She was injured in a jeep accident that killed her friend, Lori Piestewa.

Spy- What even concerns me as much are the soldiers who have been wounded and are being sent home. I hope to God or whoever that they receive better medical care and treatment than the 1st Gulf War Vets and the Vietnam vets who are still homeless, confused and walking he streets.
