Jazwolf,
My best memories of teachers are of those who hugged me and took me on field trips and such. Back then, it wasn't so risky, I suppose. Teacher/coaches would have sleepovers for the basketball teams or cheerleaders (I didn't make either squad, so I missed out there :( but my more inspiring teacher once took me on an all day outing to see a space museum and some ancient caves, etc. She regularly read to us, and hugged us, and mentored us before I even knew what mentoring was. I admire you for continuing in this trend.
