I've noticed the time thing myself
There are just certain times of the day when people post like crazy and you're lucky to get ten minutes on the home page. It seems to be mostly when people are taking breaks, or on lunch hours or whatever. Eleven AM Eastern time - 8 AM Pacific - would be when a lot of the East Coast people would start their lunch hours. (If their bosses let them near a work terminal for personal use, they might be posting like the dickens then.) Just my two cents' worth.

Now g'dang it KK... you just did exactly what Crabby has been bustin'
on the Newbies for doing!!!!! Cut it out!!! You have to set an example.... well you don't really. Just think... if Crabby was the example everyone on the BN should live by..... we'd be in big g'dang trouble!!!!

I've noticed that too.
I think there are certain times of day- 8 o clock Pacific time, for one - where the traffic is heavy making very short front page exposure.
