Jomei, this was different, yes...it's an old poem...glad you enjoyed it.
I talk to the hawks all the time when I see them...I see them daily...they are so fat and fluffy. I love em!
As for guides, well, you know I don't buy into all that, LOL Still, what animal do you think would be my guide? A bat? LOL

Ari, this was nice! It seemed to be a bit of a change of tempo to
your usual style, no??
I love hawks and eagles, it sounds corny but I really think they are my guides (like every new ager has an eagle for their totem these days LOL)

Sand Flies
Lovely poem, but -, In a 'Sand Hills Crane poem', the beautiful scene looks down at the sand flies eating on the cranes legs.
