cling,
Zarrah is such a beautiful name for who I'm sure is a beautiful child.  How old is she?  I pray that God guide you to the right decisions for her care.  I'm sure it's difficult and you and Zarrah are in my thoughts and prayers.  God Bless.  :)

Babies in pain

I would opt for giving her as much sedation as the doctors feel is suitable for her age, weight and condition so that she is very comfortable. I believe we heal better/faster in a relaxed state than if we're in pain and fighting it. I have a high pain threshold too and used to forgo any kind of pain meds. I had two breast biopsies under local anesthetic and took nothing once the freezing came out.

I have since found that if I take pain meds for a short period of time I heal wonderfully quickly. I zonked myself out for 24 hours with the Percoset the doctor gave me after having my gall bladder out and was up and travelling to Ireland a week later, feeling fit as a fiddle.

Make her as comfortable as possible is my vote. I'll be thinking about her next week and sending lots of positive energy your way.
