It's been a given that some 80% of all our ports' operations are owned by
foreign companies.  However, the problem with Dubai Ports World was that the company is state-owned, a state with past associations with terrorists and terrorist organizations.  To say that Dubai and the UAE will have no say over what DPW does in its day-to-day operations is like saying General Motors will have no say over the operations of its plants in Detroit.  It's a ridiculous argument and an insult to intelligent Americans.  And, yes, it is true that a bill calling for the ownership of ports to be American would be disastrous, I believe that our Congressmen will observe an ex post facto ruling.

was it 60 minutes?

most of the ports -- much of the transporatoin -- is already foreign owned.

can't reverse that.

twoud be tantamount ot disaster of the nnnnth proportion (or whatever)

what we wish and what really is usually are as different as night from day.
