Wow!  If I had three weeks near a place like that, I'd have so many tunes stacked up......what fun! I think I'm going to have to write a post about "Last Date" eventually, you've sparked so many memories about that song........and, yes, I'm enjoying being here at the lake, able to walk out on the deck, listening to Floyd, dance around, come back in, watch "Princess Bride" (don't need the sound because I have it memorized)..don't have to be up at 5:30am to go to work in the morning.....this working crappola when I'm retired is already getting old.....sigh....but, I'll be back at it next Saturday.....  Enjoy your Sunday, savor every moment.... I know your new job will be great, and that the trade-off of more time to do the things you want to do, i.e., write......well, that and having the other things in life you have planned....will be soooo worth it......I'll now think of you everytime I listen to Floyd....

Ha...I should have known you'd have your dancin' boots on.  Sounds like a top-drawer Floyd collection on that CD.  I'll be doing my training Downtown for the next three weeks and it's just a couple of blocks away from A&B Sound.  They've got about four floors of great old stuff, so I know I'll find Floyd there.  Well, if one song could get me up and dancing, it's that one.   "Last Date" was made for dancing...slow dancing, of course....and such good memories.  Okay, consider me up off my feet :-)  Yep, till Monday, I'm popping in occasionally for a read and a comment here and there when I take my breaks.  Glad to see you're back and writing again, Krisles...

OMG!  Up off your feet! Right now! Come dance with me to "Last Date"...it's a very, very favorite of mine....I have it by Floyd on several cd's ....and I have it in vocal renditions by a few other folks.  But, back to Floyd....the cd I was listening to  is one of three that I had a friend "burn" for Mama....all Floyd....you would die if you could hear them.....every song you can imagine loving hearing him play...... And yes, he does know how to make me melt against the sofa....in fact, he's playing right now......  You're right, I do feel very deeply.... Glad you're still coming around....

You're not crazy.  You just know how to feel very deeply.  I recognize that.  Boy, you got to me with the Floyd Cramer mention.  Let's just say Floyd Cramer and I have shared some times.  Love his piano, his slip notes, and one of his sweetest melodies is "Last Date."  Ever heard that one?  You must have.  That's a very significant one for me.  If any tune can bring a lump to my throat, it's "Last Date," and it can carry me back through the mists better than any time machine could.  If I hear that tune start up, watch out, because I'll fall back onto the nearest couch and just drift away.

All I've got is a battered cassette now.  I need to go and find the CD.  Thanks for reminding me, Krisles.  Another wonderful post.

Beautiful

And you're lucky enough to know how truly lucky you are; that's a rarity. Your Mama raised the right all right. Did you know that tears of joy are chemically different? I find that fascinating.

Thanks for the inspiring and uplifting read, always a joy.
