- Go to Now or Later -- Profit vs Greed
Ach, yes, dummy me, it's all about profits. How could I forget?
Coal is so abundant here, and therefore pretty cheap. Have you heard much about liquid coal? I guess there has been some talk about "liquifying" coal such that it can be used as oil. Makes one wonder if this could partially replace oil in the future.

It is the bottom line. Right now the electric companies can produce power cheaper with coal than using natural gas or nuclear plants. Cleaning the air is the key. When the goverment gets strick about air quality, you will see more nuclear plants. Dow is up 15 points at this writing. Good luck.

It never hurts to take a little off the table. Leave some and play with their money. I sold my Bellsouth Friday and now have some money to invest. My portfolio does not have any health related stocks, or oil. I plan to do my homework in theses sectors. For what it is worth, my local electric company uses coal-fired plants for power. They have one nuclear power plant but only use it in the summer.
