Xeno-x - from my way of thinking, the only way to possibly reconcile these
ideas of armegeddon and biblical prophecies speaking directly to our times is to completely and utterly ignore history. Every generation that has ever walked on this planet has felt that their holy book was speaking directly to the shortcomings of humanity in their time. Every century in history has had it's plagues, wars and natural disasters where humans have felt they were being punished for immorality and their sinful natures. Every generation of human existence has ignored the problems of this globe while hoping for a better future and a blissful afterlife . When are people going to wake up and say "wait a minute"? This mentality does not need to be perpetuated. It is the root of our problems as a species, not the solution.
