allergichobbit, good point.

The savings account seems to grow oh so slowly, eh? So often there's just not quite enough money left over at the end of the month to "play with."

I'm putting more into my 401k which is hampering my ability to "play."  Oh well. My 401k should pay off eventually whether options do or not.

blackcat, point well taken.

It's important to set your goals and, if you make gains, get out before turning greedy.  Pays to have a plan of action in place!

I like watching the futures market but I never trade in it.

I also stay away from options (too tempting!!)

My market gains never seem to outpace my family "emergency" expenses.  But I keep trying....

Yeah, I think commodities will heat up more and more with China expanding so rapidly.  Thanks for pointing that out!
