Couldn't have said it better...
At least athletes have somewhat of an excuse because they can get
permanently injured on the job and might need to live on their income
the rest of their lives. Hollywood has no excuse because what
they do is simply entertainment. Granted, some films have some
depth to them but they have way too much influence for being mere
entertainers. I love entertainment and I thoroughly enjoy a good
film but there needs to be some balance and sense of reason. Just
because entertainers have an opinion doesn't mean it's the be all and
end all of things. Like you said, at least the American public is
beginning to wise up.

Whjimsystoryteller, Answer: Just like athletes, they are being paid too
and most are giving too little in return -- and slowly but surely the public is beginning to become aware of it!
