writeroflight and the rest of you -- the point
is not in the actuality
but in the intensity.
Jesus said, "If you look upon a woman in lust, you have committed adultery in your heart."

atrocities are in  the mind of the commiter.
we have a very similar wayof thinking here.
no one will say that we wiull have a holocaust or the atrocities of the Nazi regime.
however,
the state of mind is similar.
deprivation of rights is  like a rose -- by any other name it is still deprivaton of rights.
etc.

Do I see any parallels?

Nope. Nice try, though.

Oh, wait, there are parallels between Bush and Hitler!

  • Hitler was a man. So is Bush.
  • Hitler was Caucasian. So is Bush.
  • Hitler had hair.  So does Bush.
  • Hitler gave speeches. So does Bush.
  • Hitler was his nation's leader. So is Bush.
  • Hitler ate food. So does Bush.
  • Hitler put his pants on one leg at a time, presumably. So does Bush.

Oh my God . . . Bush is another Hitler!!!

I see the parallels xeno
it is unfortunate but yes they are there.

Xeno-X,
It's odd, isn't it, how those who have no arguments resort to vicious attacks.  I've seen the parallels to Nazi Germany from the beginning, the ones you named and the encroaching surveillance as well. Imagine if Hitler had today's electronic capability and his complete sociopathic lack of empathy and scapegoating of minorities.

Wow, it can't become much clearer...
I do believe in reincarnation as well.  It's is horrifying seeing the parallels right in your face.  I do hope we in America take off the blinders before history repeats itself, and it does when we don't learn the first time.  Bush's money rooted from that era too.

I Used to Be...
...shouted down, too, when I brought up the Hitler comparison.

Today, however, I'm hearing it and reading it more and more.

Yes, I definitely see parallels - you'd have to be blind not to! They speak for themselves, and speak volumes!

All Thoughts Should Not Be Expressed
The teacher needed to keep personal views personal and understand the impact, and responsibility associated with freedom of speech.  I think a lot of things about a lot of things and people, yet I know when and if to say.

No, I don't see any parallels there.
All I say is the ravings of a lunatic out of touch with reality.
