Just think of it as Spring training. Most Major Leaguers don't come from the U.S. anymore and they'd just as soon do this than run sprints, go through infield drills or shag flies! To me, its nothing but a waste of talent for something that isn't going to prove anything by players that are not in shape to compete yet! See my blog.

i agree they should wait
to play exhibition games after the season, just like the nfl pro bowl. some of the hockey players got hurt at the olympics so now teams are out key players as they head into the homestretch before the playoffs. of course, i don't think professional players should be in the olympics to start with but that's a different story.
the baseball season is long and taxing players' abilities before the season even starts is ridiculous.

Apparently...
Meanwhile, my boyfriend had a good line, he said they should go ahead and play the WBC ... only, not include any pitchers. Just have the hitters bat off a tee.
