It is a Crime that that such laws even existed...
But if you look in the Bible, some of the writing in there is really warped too... different times = different views. Fifty years from now people will look back on Iraq and wonder what the hell? We just have to try to make today better for everyone.

Society has to grow up.
Dear cripfemme , Society has it's limitation. Those old laws are cruel. They belong to the old bible like segregating the leprosy and imperfect. Here in Australia, the disable ones are given priority in riding in any public transport. Almost everyone here jumps at the chance to help somebody with a disability.
Australia has spent millions of dollars to improve the street sidewalks so the disable or old people in mobile transport like manual wheelchair or electric can move around. Bus companies were told to buy buses that can kneel to one side so old or disable people will have easier access.

That is sad
They better reevaluate these laws as disabilities are becoming more and more frequent as disease, and our air quality are out of control.
