I like how you worked in the nuance of the critique...
suggested by you in a recent discussion, that the problem is not privatization per se but when it goes toward the extremes being promoted by multinational companies.
I can understand why people in Venezuela (another oil-rich one) and Bolivia clamor for nationalization. It might seem at least a lesser evil than ownership/control by big foreign companies.
I think the optimal solution is some mix of private and public ownership as well as public regulation.
