i am very impressed by your faith.
my point is that the reat miracles seem to happen in the past.
why?
why aren't there any now?
my point is
it's like other story lines of that faraway time and place
the heroes and miracles and fantastic acts were long ago
it's like any story -- in the telling the story gets more fantastic -- the tale, taller.
but you know what you know.

The Evidence is Faith
"The Natural man receives not the things of God, for they are foolishness to him." Why? Because his word is Spirit, not science. "They that come to him must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Why? Because "faith is our only access to God." God is not Learned, but he is Revealed. Thus the reason why the many who try to discover him by mindful intellect conclude he is not real....but those who Believe that he is...they don't say I know him because I learned about him but they will say because....he revealed himself to me. God reveals himself to those that love him. Not to their calculating minds, but to their open hearts. Do you reveal and expose yourself to people who don't love you? Are you determined to make someone who doesn't love you or believe in you at all...believe in you? God's purpose is not to convince man that he is real....He says he's already proven his love to you by sending his only son to your world to be crucified for the sake of your redemption, and it's the hardness of a man's heart that denies God, not his lack of information. His purpose is that you come willingly and freely to him, if you choose, not because he forces you. He's done his part, and his gift of Life is Free, he overcame death and hell for you, and wants you to take the love and free gift of salvation that he bought for you, but if anyone wants to stand in the face of God and say...You are not real and your gift of Life that you paid for with the blood of your own Son is worthless, well, we'll all get what we want in the end I guess. At this point God is longsuffering for you, not willing that any should perish, but it's every man's free choice. Despite what we "think" is true or isn't...isn't going to affect what is. God has already proven everything to us...our job is to seek him and learn of him...and that is not done by questioning and doubting, but by opening our hearts door and asking him to come in. If you wanted to know him, you could...because he will not refuse anyone who asks him for Life, but gifts are not forced on people, they are willingly accepted. The subject is and can be debated endlessly, but again, Faith is our only way to God and faith doesn't come from intellect, it comes from your heart.

Good post
People should realize that biblical stories are mythological stories. They served a social purpose at one point in history. Now it's time to put science at the forefront. Take what's good from the Bible and discard the rest.

Somethings We Just Believe...
When I first took chemistry and learned about and atom, I could not see it and just believed what was in the book and what the teacher told me. I am a believer! I realize we must have faith. I must have faith that when I sit in a chair, I will not crumble or fall. Any way, the post can generate thought for sure!!
