- Go to GUNMAN CHENEY AND HIS HALLIBURTON MILLIONS
Saul Relative, that's funny. I remember that song.
Good song.
I also heard someone say, "I'd still rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than driving with Ted Kennedy."
(Lest anyone not be familiar, a probably-drunk Ted Kennedy in 1968 drove a car off a bridge into a lake, killing his female companion.)

Cheney and his Haliburton connections go back a couple of decades, DL.
His lying about his connections, nor any politicians lies concerning their connections to anything of a financial nature (Bush and Abramoff, for example), are no surprise. But excellent work unearthing them nonetheless. Have you heard the latest song parody, "Cheney's Got A Gun," sang to the tune of "Janey's Got a Gun" by Aerosmith?

WofL...
...do you work hard at missing the obvious?
1. Cheney lied about severing his financial connections to Halliburton on national TV.
2. Cheney then feathered his nest some more by shoe-horning Halliburton into Iraq on no-bid contracts, where the company have been fleecing the American taxpayer ever since to inflate their profits.
3. See Dylan's point below.
4. He lies so merrily and easily, why should we believe his ruse to give a tiny amount of his vast wealth away to 'charity'?
Thanks for reading, gentlemen.

WriterofLight,
Cheney has made millions from Halliburton since leaving the company. Getting paid massively for doing absolutely nothing. And we are supposed to thank him for giving some of it away? He didn't earn it in the first place.

Wonderful!!!!
Yes! Capitalism thrives!
I took note of the very prominent mention of him giving that money to charity. I salute you for affirming that he is not the devil incarnate the liberals like to make him out to be, and for saluting his generosity.

By the way, to judge by Harry Reid's decision to hang on to the $90,000 plus he got from Abramoff, my guess is that a Democrat would have kept all that money - as they blamed the Republicans for it.

Total contempt Damon
A completely ball-less legislative branch just keeps rolling over. I wonder constantly how and why these usurpers continue to steam on - f-ing unbelievable!
Good post and comments.

...where once I saw stupidity, I now see complete contempt for America and for the rule of law.
I wouldn't piss on these guys if they were on fire.
Thanks for reading, D.

...I suspect it's both, my friend.
As I've said many times, it's so sad to see a great country going down the toilet like this - and some are even blind enough to think these guys are, in some way, patriotic Americans!
What a lot of rot.
Thanks for reading.

Yes, he lied.
If only he would have told that lie to a congressional committee under oath, it would add to the list of impeachable offenses.
I'm actually surprised that he would have said he had "no financial interest." Did he really think the statement would not be found false?

DamonLeigh,
The reality: It is not illegal! It is criminal! And no American politician is above moral corruption! They are all in on the scam! Is it the power or the money?
