cordwainer, I totally understand that, and as far as the gushing goes, I
sort of assess a person by their reactions to poetry, including mine, and therefore, you have past every test there is in this area.  Don't change that about yourself.  It makes you the incredible poet that you are.  And there is mutual admiration here.

A Poem?
Sometimes when I experience something as intense and beautiful as that, I withdraw and treasure it, not wanting to box it too quickly in a poem.  Since that experience, I think the imagery has appeared scattered I hope like jewels among several poems.  Sorry about all the gush, but I really love your poetry.

cordwainer, It might have been a lotus. ;-) You ride a motorcyle? Cool!
I loved your description just now and am thinking you must have written a poem about it!  Do share!

Could that flower have been a lotus? :-)
One afternoon I was sailing accross the Canadian Prairies on my Honda Magnum 750, and the sky ahead was raven black as you describe, but the sun was shining at my back.  Across the the black sky suddenly there appeared in luminous glorry a full rainbow from horizon to horizon.  And sailing into that rainbow, glittering in the sun flew three white doves, all brilliantly illuminated against the black of the angry sky. . . unforgetable.
