Ms Bradrock, Yes, you are right on all counts!

It seems that someone is always trying to make
a MOUNTAIN out of a mole hill; here and everywhere else. Oh well, as you said in another post...at least it gives bloggers something to blog about--not a direct quote of course! Have a wonderful evening...

Obstrucion of justice

does not require an underlying crime (just ask "Scooter" Libby).  It's about preventing investigation of a suspected crime. If the VP had been drinking (he has, I believe, 2 DUI's on his record) and hunting with firearms, that may be a crime. Remember, a hummer in the oval office is not a crime, either.  Lying about it under oath, is.

BTW, the VP did commit a crime. He was hunting without the proper license. A misdemeanor, yes, but still a crime.

Offbeats, a very wise and postive stance to take!

Mountain
I think the jury is still out on this one. No one in here really knows how this accident happened. Until such time the professionals say the VP has done something illegal, it remains an accident . Accidents do happen!

Professor, obstruction of justice for an accident that was
not a crime.   Did you feel that way about all the Clinton and his lawyer friends did for a hug and kiss and little more!

The cause of the commotion
is not that the VP accidentally shot someone; it's that he waited until the next day to talk to the police. You and I would not have that option. The legal term is obstruction of justice.
