Corbin...
Again, thanks for opening our eyes to the truth...It seems the ones who are shouting the loudest are the very ones who are refusing to roll up their sleeves clean up even their own messes.   It's easy to stand there with your hand out...but whatever happened to jumping in and take care of some of this on your own.

Amen....Let France and others give back some of the money we've given them over the years.....

But I tell you what is going to happen......wait and see.

This is all planned.....Venezuela is going to offer aid.   Just to attempt to embarrass the Administration further......

Irish.....

The Governor and Mayor somehow postponed the elections until the rersidents could come back.....another phrase for "making sure you had your votes lined up".  Were they to hold elections as regularily scheduled...they'd all by overwhelmingly voted out the door......

Now there's democracy in action.......

Anthony....

It comes in waves.......

I remember when the Japanese were riding an economic wave.  They came over here and were buying up real estate like crazy.....If  I remember correctly the even bought the Empire State Building.

The problem is they had so much cash that they got snookered by Americans.....and they paid extremely inflated prices for what they bought.

Everyone was bemoaning the  "New Japanese Invasion".  Except for the ones selling.   The Japanese economy went south and they had to dump their real estate holdings.....

The buyers?  The same Americans that had bought them from and for prices one half of what they had paid.........

Americans would probably be surprised at  one of, if not the largest, owners of companies and property in the US is Great Britain?  Are they trying to take the colonies back......I doubt it.

I think most of North America is owned by somebody else anyway no? Like I think China is going to own Canada before long, and Pakistan is populating the country. Thank God or I wouldn't have anyone paying my OAS benefits. I think we've aborted too many would be citizens that would have grown up here.

Let's just turn the whole city over to the French.
They can have NO with Nagin as the mayor.  Or perhaps he'd prefer to become a part of Saudi Arabia?  I'm sure the women wouldn't mind . . . .

I don't know if that would make a big difference. I believe "Imminent Domain " might supersede that? I sure hope so! You right, they don't need to be selling any more interest or land to anyone!

Scoop that is the truth. There are such large foreign holdings in
realestate and investment in this country. It probably makes our debt to these countries look like penny candy.

When is their next election? They seriously need to get someone to replace him who has the interests of all of New Orleans and its peoples. Our Country does not need to be selling any more of our land to foriegn goverments or letting them have a interest.... especially at this time!

Corbin, I wrote about the trailers some time back and thought I would
get another of my "ride her out of town on a rail' welcomes. We had a large portion of them people refused to stay in - they preferred hotel rooms and services. A friend of mine also said there was a military base that had been moved and all the Officers quarters, homes etc., had been cleaned and redone for them and not one person took them up on it, said it was too cold. Strange I think!!!

Poor old Ray is just nuts.
If a foreign country wants to "invest" in New Orleans I say go right ahead.

What would be a kicker is if it really happened
with the French, Saudis and other countries buying up some of the real estate and start rebuilding, don't laugh it could happen. Many foreign countries own more here in the U.S. then people know about.

You mean they pick up the garbage in the French Quarter?

CORBIN

The basic inter structure of that city needs rebuilt or repaired before anyone should be living there. I think that mayor suffers from denial, he really is only looking at the fluff of the city and not the basic needs to support it. I heard him do an interview where he said everyone was coming back to the French Quarter for the partying, but in the second breathe he could not be assured the garbage would be picked up. That in itself tells me, he still thinks the city itself is only about the French Quarter and the money revenues from that. He said he wanted the feds out, but again in the following sentence said they could pick up the garbage...The man has serious issues, but that is just my opinion.

As to the French foreign aid....what a joke! The French can't help themselves half the darn time!!!

I saw a spot last nuight about over

1000 new, fully furnished, trailers sitting on the runways of the Hope, Arkansas airport....the airport was getting $25,00 per week to store them......

Does that make any sense?
