yeah babel

one of the first great mesopotamian empires, or one aspiring to greatness conquered peoples far and wide and attempted to set them to building their cities and a special ziggarat in their capital -- only thing was all these disparate conquered peoples spoke disparte languages and of course the conquerors spoke a different language entirely, so the projects collapsed like a ton of bricks.
