I seldom read poetry and if I do I generally don't understand it so can't

comment.

If I do comment you can be sure that it has said something to me.

Poetry is not argumentative enough for me!

Straightforward, I read a lot more than I leave comments on.

Whether you comment or not. When something, anything, in a post stimulates me with memories, understandings, disagreements, agreement, whatever, I can't stay away from putting my two cents in.

So when I leave something for someone, they can be assured that I've taken it in, chewed on it, and spit something out.

I believe that to be the proper reward for a stimulating post. The click is just my entry fee. The true reward is/should be that what you have written has drawn a comment.

To me when I get comments that don't actually fit the post, don't say  I have been touched by, and considered your post, it is worse then getting lots of reads an no comments. There is a reason for that silence. The reason for innocuous comments is only clicks.

I hope you understand that it isn't even a form of judgement, only a natural reaction as a reader.

I read your posts and like them (too short sometimes to get me riled up) and so did I read Burly's ocassionaly, I can't comment on his or Justsouno's because I was blocked, so now only rarely. Mostly if the headline grabs me I'll read it.

I've been neglecting a whole bunch of new writers too, but for the most part we are all creatures of habit, eh

Okay I confess I don't use the favorites list at all...
I have one...I put so many people on it that I only look there once in a while to see who I haven't read recently...then I check to see what their current headline is and when they posted to see if I want to read now or later... It's a complicated and haphazard process that results in potential loss of bloggers from my sight...  Those who post often do get seen more often unfortunately...

strangelove
I'm new to this, but there are so many blogs to read and so little time what with writing and reading and the rest of my life swirling around me, getting a comment gives me a chance to pick somebody to check out.  I mean, there's ten pages of blogs or more on some of the content lists.  How do you navigate it?  Looking for advice...

Have had a down week, even my posts are not that intrigueing anymore.

So, I am afraid that my comments are down as well.

Sorry, Angela

Straightforward...
and Ari, I experience the same thing and have been thinking about that lately too!

Sometimes I find that if I'm not commenting much, neither are others
commenting much on my post.  At such a point, I try to read and comment more on others...finally, the numbers go up on the comments left on my pages.
