Thank you. After hearing about so many divorces occurring in such a short time frame...even though they'll not see my posting, I just thought it was something that needed to be said.

Great comment on giving away power. We do this WAY too much in many different circumstances.

Thanks for visiting & for your comments. You're right about the saying you quoted...we can't control some things that occur around us...just our reaction to them. That's what it's all about -- our response & reaction to what's going on around us. It's not that emotions are good or bad -- it's what we DO about them, what actions we take that matter. (BTW -- hope your cat's feeling better!).

Persistence is one of my middle names, especially when going for what I truly want. It's good hearing that there are still those out there who have chosen well the first time around (and who are willing to "go the distance" in working on their relationship thru both good & bad times). As for me....well, lets just say, I've learned to move on. If the relationship wasn't meant to be...or if we've finished what the purpose of being together was -- well, it's time to move on (no matter how painful it might be).

good post--
I don't remember who said it first, but I try hard to follow the principle of "you can't control what other people do or what happens to you in life, but you CAN control your reaction to it."

I admire your strength and determination to succeed. I've only been married once, and I'm glad that we've stuck it out through difficult times.
