- Go to AFTER WATCHING THE STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS, I WAS LEFT
There was a time, sassmeback when our politicians scrapped out their
differences outside the public scrutiny. Back in the late fifties,
early sixties, our leaders were real leaders who put America
first...not themselves and their personal agendas. They stood firmly
for ideals that would benefit the country; they showed a strong united
front to the world, and our enemies. We were the boyscouts of the world
then...we strove to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,
courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave.clean, and
reverent...we actually held up those ideals to our children...they
meant something to us. Many of our Presidents were Eagle Scouts...not
an easy Scout ranking to achieve. Today these ideals are often scoffed
at...not cool at all. The "Bad" boys and girls of professional sports,
the music world, and Hollywood who hold up anti-ideals to be emulated
have become the new "heroes". How sad is that?
Politics was once a lofty aspiration; a way for an idealistic young
person to try to change the world for the better. Somewhere since we
lost our way.Too many politicians became career politicians...
gradually putting their own self interests ahead of the country's. In
the meantime the media stole our heroes; every person is flawed but the
press seems to have more interest in breaking open a man looking
for something with
which to discredit
him rather than to expose his goodness to the world. I could ramble all
day, but I don't want to bore you..It might be too late for that. In
closing, part of what made me so angry at the Democrats the other night
was that their blatant rude behavior was unacceptable. Their disrespect
for the President and his office in front of the whole world is
unacceptable. I will maintain that in a public forum our leaders should
be mature leaders who can put aside personal differences and stand
together showing a united front to our enemies... instead of rolling
their eyes, smirking, and sitting there as the camera pans their sullen
faces, and their still hands. They showed me and the enemies of this
country that our country is a house divided and weak. Their arrogance
which they were unwilling to put aside which has put the people of this
country in danger...but their selfish lack of willingness to put their
own self interests aside and do what was best for the most is something
we will all pay for, I'm afraid. It is shocking,
appalling...a sad state of affairs...especially for us who are older
and remember that there was a better day in America...

But when have we been united?
Not since after 911... Even during the Clinton adminstration it was the Republicans constantly showing hard feelings and contempt. It never ends!!!! You would think that as adults they would act less like children in cliques.

The norm used to be....
that we left our differences at our shores.....
Today, some gleefully export it world wide.
Don't worry, they have paid, are paying, and will continue to pay for their actions.......
