Oddly enough, I asked that very question, when I first read about Google's arrangement with the Chinese government. Why not introduce democracy to China? Well, for starters, we now have a negative trade deficit with the Chinese, they finance the deficit which replaced the budget surplus under Clinton, and they are a nuclear power.
I love my country, we have always stood for the higher moral ground and ideals of democracy. I am not surprised to see China making these demands, they have no history of dissidence and democracy. I just dont' want to see the US going down that same path.

.... does logic, or for that matter, reality have to do with the actions of the Bush administration?
