Joe Love, that's too bad for Monster.
I am self conscious about things. It seems irrational to other people, but it's hard to re-train your brain to ignore or perceive things differently than you do. Maybe he could use some medication for social anxiety.  The medications can take the edge off sometimes.  Take care

Dear Joe,

Hope you are being nice to the Monster today. Greetings and blessings to you both. Read you soon.

* Don't be a-llama-d by me sending you a Valentine's Card. I'm just spreading some bloggerly love around.

*Cheers! Dave. Lots of MHS to you (Masculine Hand Shakes)

I really must get to see that film. Any audience members is a plus at my local theatre. It only gets crowded at short film festival time.
The monster intrigues me.

Your presentation was simply magical. I am not a movie goer but I have heard about the film you are talking about. However, I don't know nor understand why people should be looking at you as though you came or fell from MARS if you were really talking about yourself or it was a parody. Could you  tell me why?

I'm so sorry Joe...I know I've asked you this before but--

Why do you stay with The Monster? Do you have such a low opinion of yourself to think that there's no one out there who would treat you well and love you?

I know this is kind of personal...but you are a very intelligent, witty, charming, funny person. You deserve to have someone wonderful who would compliment your life and bring you joy.

I was there. It was awful...
All those people, staring!!!  Then I thought, get over yourself... They're only afraid you're going to step on their feet as you make your way to the center of the row.  So that's what I did.

Joe

And the humour continues.  So the Monster moseyed off into the sunset, eh?  In that case, this second episode cries out for a third episode and I'll be back, pardner Cowboy Chewing

By the way, did you know that multiplex theatres are a Canadian invention?   Bit of trivia (easter egg) for you

Hell Joe, I'd go with you...and I'm straight...
but I wouldn't care if you asked for tickets to the gay cowboy movie in a full lisp...I'd just laugh as say, "Isn't he cute?" and wink at the countergirl, just to see the expression on her face...

Hey Joe !!!!!!!
Brokeback Mountain just came our way and if I can even attempt talking my better half into going, I'll bet she acts the same way! Heck, I'll go see it with you. I'm not loud and proud, but I'm not shy either. Don't know if I'll stay on Blogit much longer (finances) but feel free to keep in touch! Best regards!.................Jax

Joe_Love,
You sound like you are much more comfortable being who you are than The Monster (how can you stand to live with someone you dub The Monster?).  I love how you taunt him with threats of loudly asking for tickets to "The Gay Cowboy Movie".. LOL at your comment about the priest.

I went with my daughter...
when the first passionate scene exploded with belts being unbuckled while bodies twisted and turned, their breath hot with need and desire during the coldest night on the mountain so far, only two people walked out--a couple, man and woman, 60ish, probably straight and very proper christians. Anyway, we found the movie to be wonderful. I can't wait to see if you ever got to see the movie... lol.

I'm glad you caught that!  Krisles refers to those as "easter eggs", and sometimes she is the only one whom will catch a hidden little nugget.  *grin*  You were first this time.

JoeL...This is too funny...haha....The bellhop..is that what u called them?
Is The Monster shy, generally, or just feeling that way when too many straight folk are around? I liked how you wrote this with a devilish sense of humor. Good descriptions and quite amusing. I bet you stuck The Monster's sorry butt down and made him watch the flick...

The thing about the priest...TOO funny!
But about the nuns--are you sure they weren't just cute guys in drag?  My gay cousin dressed up like a nun and looked absolutely adorable!!!  lol!  :-)  ~LB~ xoxo

Actually Joe...

I got distracted because I DON'T know what they say about the one with the larger ass.  I might have to ask my uncles (most of whom are gay).  Oh shoot, they'll never tell me.

So... DID you stay for the movie?

Did You See the Movie?
I agree with one of the other comments, our perceptions may distort view of what is actually going on for we think of sooooo... many thoughts of the other person, when we truly can only know ours!

Joe L,

You are sure to be at least partially right in your reaction to the situation, but I have been in too many situations where I have had the feeling of being the object of discrimination.  I have had people who thought I was gay, people who called me names that I won't repeat because of my civil rights and anti-war activities, people who have thought I was a Hell's Angel, and so many other things that made me a discriminatee that I won't go on.

There is one thing that I have learned: when you feel that you are being discriminated against, examine yourself.  How much is actual discrimination, and how much is your own projection that is a result of your assumptions about the feelings of others?

I'm don't know exactly what your situation was.  I wasn't there.  But it is something to consider.  Yes, gay people do get discriminated against in a terrible way, but don't let a rebound effect taint your own thinking.

Now that I think about it, I have a friend who is a really butch lesbian.  She has a cowboy outfit that she wore to work once.  I think I might call her and invite her to the movie. (In her cowboy outfit.)  I love to rankle the discrimination prone.   jack
