I am not sure there is enough for a book but I have been giving some thought to kind of writing a how-to kinda sorta thing about all the things nobody ever warns us about during this type of thing.

LOL That is the one thing that didn't take much adjusting for me.  It's really nice to have a warm body there again.

Thank you.  Actually, I have been a housewife for years, I probably phrased that poorly.  I have been happy being a housewife for years, but what I have discovered is there is more to me and what I can do and now I just have to find out how to put them all together.

We are both discovering that the other has changed in many small ways.  The adjustment is taking some time but little by little we are getting there.  Hopefully soon we will all be back into the swing of things.

This is probably a natural transition.
I'm sure you'll discover your role and begin to fill it just fine in no time at all.  Maybe you could write a book about your experiences while Carl was gone....how it felt to be alone and worried about his safety.

MW,

Good to see you again.  Of course things are weird.  Living in San Diego, I'm used to Navy wives who complain when their husbands return.  "He's in MY bed!"  etc.  I hope you continue to write, because your process is important, and I always enjoy reading what you write.

good luck adjusting

Military Wife
I must say that it's good to see you back here writing. You've done a good job at distinguishing what's changed about you since your husband's return. I would daresay that you are well on your way to finding your niche once again. Oh, by the way, a 'housewife' is a highly esteemed position.

I Can Imagine the Difference
When I first started teaching, I had long vacations that I could use as I please.  My husband started taking his vacations at the same time, yet I had little control over plans.  It was different and as you indicated, it will take time for adjustment.  Figure out what will be good for you. If you do not, you may find that life may not be good!! Best wishes!

Dirty Laundry Fairies...
It all makes sense now.  Welcome to Normal, it's not so bad.  I've been searching for myself for about 20 years now...let me know if you find me along the way.  Good for you though, it'll all come back to you, just take your time.
