Excuse me, enlightenrod?
I don't think your cynicism is warranted.

Votes don't mean anything
as long as Republicans control the voting technology.

Xenox, I completely disagree with you, and question

just how much you've read about this man and his opinions.  From what I've heard and read he uses a case by case approach and has alternatively been for government and for the little guy, depending on the situation.

But if you're against him because he is pro life -- hummph, why am I not surprised.  I've always wondered how so called "Christians" can be in favor of over 40 million murders errr I mean abortions.  But then I remind myself that passing judgment belongs to God, so I won't go there.

Thanks for your comment!

This is Not...
...how it was reported over here.

The BBC interviewed the guy who led the panel - a Democrat - and he said this guys work record, education, credentials etc. were 'impecable'.

But to get into the pros and cons of individuals is missing the bigger picture, which is that Bush had a stated aim to steer the Supreme Court off to the extreme right, and this is exactly what he's achieving. The consequences will be with you guys - with all of us - for decades, potentially. And it won't be pretty.

I agree with you, Justsouno.
He is a GOOD man, a strict constitutionalist.  We NEED more of those in the judiciary!!!

Ooooh, Corbin, you think that will happen?
Excellent!

sarooster, I agree with you.
I think their negativity could backfire on them, at a time when they are desperately trying to win votes and seats.  Oh well.  Backfire away!

Jane's thank you for posting this. I do believe the Democrats have come
to some low that never before has been reached in their ugliness to people, any people whom they even suspect are not in line with their thinking. It is really so ridiculous. It should fall back in their faces. This is a good man. He will be a good man for the country. I don't care who picked him, he is good for the job.

Janes....
We all know what it was all about........this circus will be nothing by comparison....if and when GW gets a third appointement.......

Janes,
This was a good post. The judge is a fine man who is more than worthy of serving on the Supreme Court. The liberals and Democrats lost some ground during the hearings. If they make too big a deal in the full Senate it will cost them more.
