That's a cool story Jaz, and it makes me want to check out Ray Bradbury's book on writing. I didn't even know he had one!
Also, it's encouraging to me that eventually, you began to look forward
to your weekly writing. Right now, I'm working on a fantasy novel, and
I'm at the stage before the every-day writing has become a habit, so I
still have to force myself to write.
It's good to know that it probably won't always be forced.

I agree about the passion. Sometimes you can be lucky too. I've just
been commissioned to write a book about something I am passionate
about. It helped that they saw my passion in other pieces I'd written.
I told my students that even when they are doing assignments they
should always choose topics they are passionate about as it will make
it more fun and easier

Passion
is pretty much the key to
success. Ambition and hunger for power will only get you as far
as Machiavelli can. But passion for something will get you
everything. I've been meeting people who have been telling me so pretty often lately.

The Passion Behind Writing
I've had Bradbury's book sitting on my shelf for some time now. You have motivated me to take it down and read it. You (and Bradbury) are right; writing about your passion is one of the most powerful things you can do and gives you endless opportunities for exploration. I wish more bloggers would write about their passions in their blogs instead of writing gossipy headlines.

I will be watching for
Seasons of the Wolf at Barnes & Noble. They sound like my kind of reading.
