The level of laziness and incompetence is astounding in these types of offices.

Tired of the run around is a good way to put it.  Things are working out but I think we are all very tired of having to fight for everything.

It took me a long time to be so "in your face" about things.  I spent many years letting others walk on me, there are still moments when I am afraid to do so..but if I let it hold me back, I will spend my life wishing I had done something different.  You will find that voice in time...always remember you are worth defending.

Military Wife,
I'm glad you got that SNAFU cleared up, even if you had to raise hell to do it.  Veterans have had enough to deal with, and probably sick of it as well, without being given the runaround at home. I hope it's all working out.

Hey, MW...

So, you retired "Clone Willie" huh?  hahaha  You are so funny - I will never forget that so long as I live.  You are a funny girl.

I'm sorry things have been so hard for you since Carl came home, but they'll get better.  They have to, don't they, MW?  Everybody's having a hard time, it's scarey!

Well, girl, I've missed you and am happy you're back with us.  Thank God you've got your man home, healthy and whole.  I wonder, will it ever end.  It's all so scarey.  Be safe, and God bless.  Love ya!

Yes we did actually call her home, it was a complete accident on our part, it was the number I was given from 411.  Needless to say that conversation was rather "short", as we were basically told that was not the number to call.  But you know what, maybe that helped move things along.  Either way, it's a shame that people who have paid into this are having such a hard time getting their money.

Very good question.

This is just appalling
since when did servants of the state become our masters?

When I talk to people like that, I think Are you apathetic or just stupid?
Which, the old joke goes, "I don't know and I don't care."  That is just so wrong, it's a good thing you made that phone call (you didn't call Jennifer at home, really?  Good for you!)  After all the crap Carl and every other soldier has been through to screw up the paperwork on his unemployment is just adding insult to injury.

Isn't it interesting that it seems the worst level of idiots come from the businesses that often hold others lives in their hands...they also seem to be the coldest and most uncaring.

They trained with the medical insurance customer service obviously!
Awesome job straightening it out...for Carl and the others too!

Justsouno

I am planning to advocate for a Veteran rep for this type of situation.  But what really concerns me is that I don't think it's just the Vet's that are getting this.  When companies close or move to another country there are 100's sometimes 1000's that are devastated by the loss of a job and it troubles me that in a time that is so stressful that the lack of concern or effort only serves to make it that much worse.

As for talking to the Gov at home...Carl is still a soldier and the backlash would still effect him, at this point we are simply looking to have a nice quiet life.

I missed you too!

First Military Wife I have missed you. It is a shame that people can not
get a human being in most any company to correct an error. Errors that cost money, lives even and all sorts of frustration. I don't want to even go there. I am sorry you did not insist on talking to the governor at home. Somebody has to address the problems of not being able to get to PEOPLE. Call your senators, representatives both in State and Federal Government. Ask them if they would be concerned if their personal security and their health care was put on purely technological menu so no doctor or marksman could respond in case of attack either from enemy or heart? Then tell them to get people answering calls that respond to solder's needs, ex solders needs for sure and their families. This makes me angry.

you hit the nail on the head with that!  It's good to be back, thank you.

MW,

Glad you got that straightened out. What can I say. Seems all the state government employees in every state went to the same "I don't know" school. So glad to see you back. love Shadow

Blackcat
It's good to be back.  I honestly don't think they are trying to scam but they have more incompetents working in one place than I have ever seen in my entire life.  90% of the time when you ask a question they don't know the answer and even the rep's don't comprehend the paperwork.

posted by Bel_ on January 22, 2006 at 9:03 AM | link to this | reply

that almost sounds like a scam. Hold until someone calls for it?
btw... good to see you back!
