- Go to Writing As If My Life Depends On It--- Because It Does
Limited Capacity
Writersjourney,
It's a good thing that I can squeeze words out of my fingers. Otherwise my head would explode from all that it "collects." But I like it that way.

It's A Blessing
Azur,
Isn't it wonderful to have a feeling like that about something? Good luck with the oranges!

A Wonderful State of Being
Having a mind that is a "collection agency," that absorbs everything and collects fragments and bits and pieces of quantitative and qualitative data is the nature of the true writer. We write to share and contribute to the stream of consciousness of humanity; it is our highest calling.

Mine depends on it too. There is nothing I want to do more nor ever will

It's true, Jazzwolf,
(my fingers keep typing Jazzworld, I don't know why)....the fun is in the mystery. As I get older, I no longer wake up in dread and fear and think "I wonder what's going to happen today" in cold dread but I think "I wonder what is going to happen today" and smile.

Life's Mystery
Blanche,
You're absolutely right. And the desire to solve that mystery is what keeps me going, although, in truth, I know I never will find the answer. But the pleasure's in the journey, not the final destination.

Jazwolf,
I agree, writing is my way of clarifying, asking questions, looking for insight. I've just stopped looking for "The Truth", and accept that life is a mystery I may not have all the answers to.

Excellent post, Jazwolf; and that is the way it is here, as well. I share your enthusiasm, dedication, obsession, or whatever it is.
