Children certainly do have a way. It's the nature of the beast. By the way, I saw a quetzal in the cloud forests of Costa Rica a few years ago. What a treat! I had just gone up for a day hike and to do a little trout fishing. Upon arrival, I met some Dutch tourists who had been there a week looking for the bird--- and not seen it. Later that day, one flew by just in front of me.
