Jane's thank you for this post. I am truly concerned about how churches
are looking at such. He did not suggest you feed the hungry, clothe the naked, or visit those in jail and what ever else, He commanded it. The whole idea that people are afraid they will be ripped off. Get a grip. I would rather be ripped off than the person doing the ripping off of God's people. Or for that matter I would not want to be the one who rejected one of them.
I am so proud of you. You be blessed. As I hope they will when they realize you are just guiding them back onto the track of righteousness.

Thanks Doc,
and yes, I know the churches don't have an endless stream of income and have to be careful with how they spend it, but I also know that my church has been able to cough up multiple millions of dollars to add on and make it bigger and more beautiful . . . .

I Agree with You
There is a church in area that a member had suffered a stroke, has three children, went to the church officers and asked for a small loan ($150). He was told that he had to run it by the pastor and he would get back to him. It ended up being several days before he was able to get the money.
The sad thing is that when he was healthy, he put in money, would volunteer to do many essentials, and was treated in such a disrespectful manner! To me it was as though he had paid insurance!!
Many officers and members of church es, do not get the message!! Nice post!
