Yeah, I read that story...
...the parents tried to tell the cops their son's gun wasn't real, but the cops wouldn't listen. It really burned me up, too.
I have never trusted police.

First Off...
Who do you mean by "they?"
Secondly, the news media (I guess that's the "they" you speak of) do not always blame the victim.
Thirdly, sometimes the victim really is to blame. (I think it's called "suicide by police fire.")
Fourthly, when you're a cop, you tend to view even innocent victims as potentially lethal criminals. Police officers have no litmus test when pursuing perps.
And lastly, what are you talking about? It's hard to comment on a post when the post provides no point of reference. What kid with a BB gun? What story are you talking about in your post? What victim did they blame? Who is "they?" Is "they" the cops or is "they" the news media?
You've got to provide more information!
