to the Red River to keep the Yankees from entering the state. Texans have more than demonstrated they have nothing to fear from border-crossing Mexicans.

Deadly. This is the downfall of all trend setters eventually. They become wedded to their trend and fail to adapt. That is what is so dangerous from the fundamentalists of any stripe, they are mired in an unchanging, unnatural concept. I believe that there is no safety in exclusion, rather only inclusion will secure a stable future.
Take a good look around you and you'll see that at the root of all strife is racism, bigotry, religious extremism and Fundamentalism. If it was for our beliefs in the many one true gods throughout the world and our fear of anything different we would have peace. The USA, for the sake of humanity, must snap out of this right wing craziness and open up to join in the world , otherwise you will be doomed first in a full scale global cataclysm.
