I like yours better,Ebb. I cannot seem to get away from the iambic...
for one thing. More importantly, we both are thinking of freedom,
although my verse speaks of spontaneity and naievte bordering on
irresponsibility whereas yours has great purpose, and high
mindedness...and has an underlying message of intent to protect such
freedom. The quatrains of the grasshopper and the ant have been
submitted! LOL! I most grciously concede the third quatrain
to you... with firm insistence.

So far it's just us two, muser...
and since I can't sleep tonight... I guess I'll Blog. Here's my third stanza:
For from within the soul freedom flies forth,
Unfettered by feckless and vapid lies,
Certain of its vision and its great worth,
Solving the cruxes, wherefores and the whys.

Ebb, are we going to be the only two participants again? 3rd Quatrain?
Let's not make any plans before we leave;
like falling leaves upon the wind we'll wend.
Agreeably this might be quite naive,
but we could dance tonight at rainbow's end.
