Thanks for your comment (I like the Confucius quote, too)...and thanks for stopping by.  Glad I could give you some food for thought.

Maybe that's my challenge lately....("changing ourselves is as easy as waking up"...)-- I've been having trouble waking up fully...lol     All kidding aside, you're right... changing ourselves can be as easy as waking up...but, some days are SO much easier to do that than other days.  (especially the last couple of weeks).

You're SO right...balance is extremely important as we walk our spiritual paths.  We shouldn't get too caught up - either way - we shouldn't be caught up with the mundane world, nor caught up in introspection.  Thank you for voicing your thoughts...they're good ones.

Thanks...for me, however, it's hard to say which I like best...they ALL seem to say something to my soul in this particular posting.

Changing ourselves is as easy as waking up.

self-examination is helpful
to help one navigate the world fairly and benevalently.  Thank you for reminding us of these wise words...Balance is important.  We need to look inwards, but if we get too caught up in this, then the world becomes a menagerie of our selves, which in another manner, is illusory.

Thank you for your kind words.  Too often I am turned towards the world...envious of others & jealous of what they have -- this focus on what I don't have only brings me more lack.  Thoughts expand, so my emphasis needs always to be on what I DO have.  An attitude of gratitude goes a LONG way.  Remembering to be appreciative of my blessings every day helps me to focus on the positive.

Excellent
I agree fully.  Too much time is spent focusing on others and things outside self!!  I heard a minister once say that the enemy is the "inner me".  Awesome post!!
