Thanks for the lead on Dr. Roberts
I suspect he and President Bush had a falling out sometime in the past. He reads like a Pat Buchanan hardliner; if he is, then no wonder he doesn't like the President.
In hunting around for more information on him , I found a very interesting and erroneous column he wrote about how the economy is doomed. Written in April 2003, he projects rising unemployment as more and more jobs are exported. Well, Dr. Roberts was wrong. Unemployment has dropped, jobs are up, and most other economic indicators are also up. Which doesn't speak well for his credibility here as well. I noted that he is at Stanford's Hoover Institution. I'd love to hear him debate his colleague at Hoover, Dr. Thomas Sowell, a conservative who - unlike Dr. Roberts - has his head screwed on straight.
