Rachel...I read this earlier and, quite frankly, didn't have a clue
as to what to say. I still don't. Except maybe I at least can imagine what that must feel like. I couldn't imagine saying goodbye to one of my babies. That being said, your daughter is so lucky to have you. If anything should be a consolation, it's that you make the transition easier on her by being such a loving and giving parent. Unfortunately, crying goes along with all that loving and giving...

Thanks for all the support!
I talked to her this morning and she sounds great, so it lifted my spirits a bit. It's never fun to have her gone, but when I know she's okay, I feel okay, too. Thanks for all the comments. :)

I bet if she came to live with you, and made new friends....
...she'd realize it was so much better even if she missed her friends. But, I get it, too. You guys are all Gilmore Girls-y. I thought you didn't get to see her this year when we were talking about her traveling, I'm glad you did. I'm sorry it hurts so much. You guys could have a trial thingy where she comes for a year and if she misses her friends she goes back. She should be with you when she's becoming a woman. :) You're such an awesome Mom.
