Blagging,
Of course we could not allow much "spying", but I don't think it is a problem yet. I am not really big on programs like this at all. My biggest beef is the liberals trying to make George Bush a scapegoat when all the presidents before him did pretty much the same thing. If we can put up with that from them then I am willing to let Mr. Bush do the same thing.

That's a great idea flamethrower,
You have a much more honest perspective on civil rights than us here in the US. We think our civil rights are being trampled on when we have to show our ID in certain places. I suspect most of the liberals in our great land know we have great civil rights. It's just an easy way to attack George Bush, whom they hate. Great comment.

it's a fine balance
if the levels of public surveillence reach the point where our privacy is being invaded and we end up in some kind of 1984-esque society then things have obviously gone too far. But right now, I would much rather let a security guard check the contents of my handbag, that get blown up mid shopping spree! I you've got nothing to hide then what's the problem?

Fine write up. I think the agitations of Liberals about the supposed lost of civil rights should be ignored. How I wish they uttered all those their statements which is tantamount to the reactions from a spoiled Child to people living in Egypt, China, Syria,Zimbabwe, Iran or North Korea. Those are people who can complain because they have no civil rights not the Americans.
