OTOH, it could be that he can actually play the thing. I will say many optimistic prayers for both your sanity and hearing.

Cass,
I hope I can remember that I did it in his best interest when I feel like I want to kill him.

John,
I think I have an omen. Tonight I asked him again and this time, when it really mattered, he said for Christmas he wants water balloons - whatever those are!

You probably will regret it, but you will definitely be the coolest mom around! BTW, I would do exactly the same thing.

You have no idea how much you are going to regret it, word, but you have chosen the best way to learn....hehehehehe

Thanks for stopping in Shelley
and you've come bearing gifts too. How cool is that?

Word,
actually drumming is less annoying to me than other noises.  And the Conga drum has a nice deep sound  - far better than that high sharp snare drum sound.

Thanks for your sensible advice, Offbeats.
I do want him to have wide and varied interests. I'm just thinking that that might be at the cost of my sanity.

WORD
You may have some regrets at first, but eventually he may just learn how to play them and all will be fine! My g/daughter did the same thing, now she plays 5 instruments and the quads in high school marching band's drumline...Glad he wanted something like that rather than a gameboy or something! Plus, you can always take all your lights and put them in a room, lock yourself in and put in some ear plugs..Highly recommended! Good luck my friend!!!
