muser, I can see you sitting there and enjoying the twelve days of Christmas after its all blown over. I know my mother is around and I guess it makes it easier that we lived far away when she was alive. I think what I miss is that she's not here to see my boys or watch them grow up. I hope you had a good Christmas!

Dear Ca88andra, There is so much here tugging at my heart...
I bought Christmas cards AGAIN this year...siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
None were mailed AGAIN this year. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh... I have sent
some online cards. There is never enough time at Christmas...it has
something to do with the elves...I think! There is never enough money
at Christmas...blame that one on Murphy. But after all the busy-ness of
the season has passed, I sit back and enjoy those twelve days of
Christmas...and usually leave my Christmas tree and decorations up
until February! I never want it to end. I know how you miss your
mother...I still talk to Mama, and this is my sixth Christmas without
her. For what it is worth, I don't miss her as much...I've gotten used
to the idea of her living far, far away...but I still feel her presence
near me... she will never really be gone. As for work.. or any other
"situation" that arises....just remember the serenity prayer. It always
works for me, anyway.

Temple - I think there are many of us out there who find the whole card thing difficult. Oh well... Thank you for your lovely comment.

More work and the same money, eh? Hmmm...
I thought that was the American way, not the Australian way. Blech! I can't tell you how many times I've done the letter thing with the card thing....and I get part of the way, or even almost all of the way, finished and don't get the stupid things out. One day I will do it. I didn't even attempt it this year. I don't even bother with holiday cards, I do a New Year one....or ...would....lol. I know the goals seem so big, but you just keep chipping away and eventually something gives. And, maybe your Mom does talk back.... just not in ways you realize. Happy New Year, Cass. Best of everything to you, sweet girl.

You are so right about time. I feel like
all I do is work. Very sorry to hear about your friend's mother. If I have one regret it is that I didn't get to visit two family friends before they died of cancer. It was right when I lost my job and house, I couldn't afford to travel. People think it's so easy to get up and go, try it broke. They don't give you gas at the gas station because your family friend died. Anyway, I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas

I'm sorry
to read about your 'sister's mother' and of your own bereavement earlier in the year. On the writing/time thing I just allocate a certain time to writing each day - anything else is a bonus but I try to make the minimum. On the gym, each time I look at your picture I think 'wow;' you look beautiful to me.

I am with Original on this one. If you find out how to squeeze more hours out of a day, I suggest you write a book about it! You would definitely have a best seller on your hands my dear girl!
My it has been 5 months since your Mother died, seems just like last week you were writing us the post of her passing. Even if she doesn't answer you, I still bet she is listening.
Cass, don't worry about the gift thing. Sometimes the best gift you can give is yourself and with you, that should be darned good enough. You have a wonderful Christmas in the beautiful land down under!

A little gift from Ohio, USA ........

Ca88andra,
Such a poignant year, like you said, "distance and lack of money have so much to answer for". Keep on truckin'.

You know, Ca88andra, you write a journal post like a journal should be written. I don't know why I'm in Journal most of the time. Mine is just a big conglomeration of anything and probably should be in the Everything Else category.

I'm sorry you have to work so hard to bring up your children. I know it's
tough. I'm also sorry that you have lost a close friend. It's hard anytime, but especially hard this time of year.
You don't have to work too hard on that body. Looks like you're in pretty good shape. You should see me (built like a brick outhouse with all the bricks out of place). You look good!
Hope you have a nice Christmas.

I've just remembered that our group at work hasn't bought anything for one of our managers - and our Christmas party is today! Nothing like last minute shopping. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your friends mom.
Be fine
