I'm on board. Got rid of my newspaper and my cable TV months ago and haven't looked back since. I get what I want from my Internet home page, and that's a lot less in-my-face. I have more control over what I allow into my head. Network news arrives with trumpets and bugles blaring, obsessing on the bizarre, the terrible, the depressing and the abominable, delivered to us by posturing reporters, intoning their personal view of the world instead of just giving us the facts. The newspaper arrives with glaring headlines and exhibiting the same obsession. They cover 100 bad-news items and ignore 6 million good-news items. In other words, the world media are delivering us a distorted view of the world and that can affect the quality of our lives negatively. You're on the right track.

I'm with you on that
I'm sick of all the scare news, designed to keep us tuning in so they can sell more commercial space. I am also sick of the low-brow intellect on the talk shows that is full of anger but offers very little insight. And I'm sick of all the one-sided stories and official propaganda to get us to passively go along every plan the financial elite have to loot our wallets.
I read Google News to select stories that matter from a wide range of news sources. I don't like being led by the nose by broadcast media, but I do like to keep tabs on current events and put them in historical perspective.

You've got blogging Fever...we all get it.
Can't stop blogging...don't keep our houses clean anymore....forget to feed the kids/pay the bills.
the news is depressing though.
