Dances
Visited your blog today so it's after the fact.  Like the rest of your readers, I am anxious to hear how it went and, if you took the job, what will you be doing about your safety on a regular basis?

HI DwW
Sorry if I came off harsh in the comment below, I sometimes speak and don't think. It's just that, from reading your blogs, I've built up a picture of you as a strong person, who doesn't take any nonsense.

Is your car insured?
Other than that, just keep your doors locked, windows wound up (Whilst driving and parked) be vigilant. Walk with attitude, carry pepper spray, or always keep one arm free - Muggers look for easy targets - Take self-defence classes if you have to (Heck, take self-defence classes anyway, any woman needs them) and then stop looking for what could go wrong but what could go right. Stop making excuses, if you want to do it, find a way. You could get knocked over by a bus in your own suburb.

Bark worse than the bite?
It sounds like you were well prepared. In my experience, preparation and a positive attitude are the two major keys to success. So, Dances, how did it go?

I'm a day late and a dollar short as they say -- but if this kind of thing comes up again, what's wrong with taking along a friend. Some problems that impact individual women don't happen when there are two people. Maybe take along a big dog...  Hope your meeting went well and the perceived danger was really not so bad. :)

Think positive and walk as if you own the joint! It is often fear itself that gets us into trouble.

Apply the usual rules of common sense re personal safety, and it sounds like you are doing so, and you will be fine. You can always ask the guy to accompany you back to your car after the meeting.
