Comments on THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW AGAINST CLICHES’

Go to TO WRITE OR NOT TO WRITE. THAT IS THE Q.Add a commentGo to THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW AGAINST CLICHES’

There is no single drop of doubt that the Camroonian dominant Press is akin to the dominant Press in the States. For some of them studied or got trained in the US or in France within papers and schools churning and fashioning out the same ideologues. They lack integrity and are also devisive. Furthermore, they want to impose their own order against the will of the poeple. It is a shame. Tiel , I will want to use this ocassion to thank you for reading me regularly it is a great support which also encourages me to do more. Once again thank you and God Bless.

They say that it's good to use a few in writing now and then.
Helps the reader fit right in.  Thanks for the entertainment.

Excellent!
I know as writers we aspire to be original, but I personally get excited when someone has stumbled upon the same concept of me totally independent of contact with me. I wrote this piece about four or five years ago: Slow and steady wins the race, haste makes waste, so basically you're crying over spilt milk instead of seizing the day, a penny saved is a penny earned and if time is money, and efficiency learned through dogged determination will pay off, rome wasn't built in a day, you're soft, cuz it's a dog-eat-dog world wouldn't you say? If dogs are man's best friend then it's a free-for-all that never ends to make ends meet you are what you eat. Never put all your eggs in one basket, that's like counting your chickens before they hatch, bury the hatchet, exhume the multifaceted casket attached at the hip, siamese mommies, monkey see monkey do, so keep it simple stupid and reap what you sow, easy come easy go, free your behind and your mind will follow, it takes one to know one, that's why every rose has its thorn and medicine is hard to swallow, the bigger they come the harder they fall especially if you're a few bricks short of a wall, in your port-of-call don't burn bridges before you cross them and don't serve your salads before you toss them. Two years later, I found out that a Canadian poet Christopher Dewdney had already published pieces of strung together cliches. I was blown away that I had never heard of him before, but we came up with a very similar idea. I really like yours too.

Tiel...funny post. It takes a talented writer to imitate bad writing so
well.  There once was an episode of bewitched where Endora put Darren under a spell where all he could say was cliche's and cutesyisms.  Didin't go over very well in business meetings.

Hi there

Very amusing, Want some blog with your cliches? Also a very valid point. I often try to think of a title for my blog and then end up twisting a cliche to fit and then sometimes getting thoroughly pee'd off and changing it totally. Something original is way better than something punny.

Well, that beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.   Just came by to say Hi and Thanks for dropping by and complimenting my husband's work!  He's been taking digital pix so I will try to put up one or two when we get home.

Tiel...
This is neat.  I've been toward cliches' are a product of a lazy mind, but I love them.  When you use them with the younger generation they may look at you with a question on their face at times, because they don't understand them and I find that fun!  Well, that's all she wrote and I'll see you in the funny pages.
