lapis--
I went back and read this because I've been interested in this case. I couldn't go into a big socio-political thing about it, so I wrote a poem you can scroll down to in my blog. Incidentally, once again, Corbin is showing his Christian compassion for wrongdoers.

LapisLazuli,
When a man goes before God he is left with the results of all his worldly deeds! That is a tenet of all Religions! However in the court of man we can selectively choose our contrition and remorse! I am not certain if his purpose was to leave the debate open? But Mr. Williams did not (absent a death-bed confession) settle the argument of his guilt! Before God a man has no choice but to confront work done while in the flesh.

Stick the needle
in at 12:01 tonight.......he still won't admit to the crimes and has shown no level of contrition to the victim's families.....
The rest of his maneuvering is all for gaining a more favorable image with the public in general. Save the people of California some money on the upkeep.....

I think every situation is different.... I really don't have enough details
to comment. I do sometimes think, well, his victim didn't get a second chance.....

If I were
put in the place of that family "Tookie" affected, I don't think I could have the will to forgive. I know man is vengeful by nature, and it is difficult to overcome. I know we should try, but what this man did, and the things his actions put into motion (he started the Crips) just can't be undone by writing a book and preaching how wrong he was. I don't envy Arnold one bit as he will be scrutinized whichever way he decides.
