I put a post on here once comparing Boston sports to D.C. sports and said that Beantowners should enjoy every minute of it and not take it for granted. Because, realistically, the Patriots will never enjoy another era like this again. If you don't believe me, ask the fans in Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Green Bay. You may win a title here and there after the Belichick era. But the chances of another Patriot dynasty are slim. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Pats over the last four years, even though I am a Steeler fan, and just hope that the next NFL dynasty comports themsleves with as much class and teamwork as this group has.

As a fellow Bostonian now transplanted across the Pacific ocean I know what you are saying here. Well said. I started following the Pats back in the late 60's when my family moved back to the Beantown area from south Jersey. (We were originally from Boston but the construction industry was dead back in the late 50's and my father moved us to New Jersey where there was work to be had.) This team has seen greatness and real team play and fellowship. They earned everything they strived for, and with class and dignity. Sad to see the injuries this past year and the losses as well, but I know they can come back with some rehab and new acquistions of young players. I never thought I would see the day the 'Patsies' as we called them win a Superbowl championship. For them to win three out of four was mind-boggling and so damned exciting to watch. Then to have the Sox win a World Series, well, that was the icing on the Boston sports scene and wonderful for all the fans who waited so many years, decades (centuries?) :-) I thought I'd be dead long before either of these teams won the big one. Now if only the Celts and the Bruins would just get back to their former winning ways! :-o Have fun in the snow! Wish I could get the games here. :-(
