I thought it was just me
I've always been a solitary sort of person. It always felt to me like if you weren't already in a person's circle of friends you might as well forget about entering it late in the game. I notice this at work also. People will be chatting about the party they attended-that everyone attended that I wasn't invited to. It's too bad people are more open to making new friends or even acknowledging that the persn next to them is human.
