Corbin_Dallas is correct in his assessment of how the news is reported in
the MidEast. But I agree with you, SlyCy. Propaganda by any other name... But I do disagree with the idea that just because an American wrote it, it must be true. Maybe more slanted toward the truth, but I doubt if it is entirely factual. Still, one doubts whether Iraqis would recognize a truthful story anyway, given the history of reporting in Iraq. Hmmm. Sounds a little like the USA, huh?

Perhaps you have a point, but it still seems immoral to me.

If we saturate their beliefs with our viewpoint, it seems that we are invading their press as well as thier homeland.
Gee, The Islamists would never do that would they...ever hear of Al Jazeera. We have to understand that different cultures do things differently, paying for a story to be in a paper is a common practice in that part of the world.
No one is denying that the stories are the truth...so what's the difference? It's a little balance to the nutty Arab channel......do whatever it takes to get the truth out......it could save both Iraqi and American lives in the long run.......
What kind of press did they have with Saddam? Remember Bagdad Bob?????
